Choosing A Higher Thought
Recently, I’ve had the honor of walking through some deeply human, deeply humbling moments—some of which many would label as “hard.” They didn’t all happen directly to me, but they happened to people I love. People close to my heart.
There were multiple hospital visits… rehab visits… family members going through battles that I can’t fight for them. One of my business accounts dipped to a low I’d never seen before. And personally, I hit a few internal walls that had me questioning a lot—my voice, my gifts, my call, my purpose, my passion.

And I had a some questions for God.
Why do bad things seem to happen to good people?
Why does it seem like some people get to coast while others have to crawl through the mud for their breakthrough?
These thoughts had me spinning for awhile. But eventually, I landed somewhere higher. Somewhere lighter. And I want to offer that same space to you.

No matter what you may be facing, you always have the power to choose a higher thought.
This week, while sitting with one of my loved ones, I put this into practice. I tapped into something that doesn’t get enough credit in adulthood: my imagination. You know, the thing we’re told to “grow out of” after elementary school? The very tool kids use to access magic, miracles, and possibility?
I went back to that child-like faith. And I made a conscious decision: I will see this person healed and whole. Not based on what they’ve been through. Not based on what the doctors are saying. Not based on what fear is whispering.
I imagined them as the fullest version of themselves—radiating light, peace, power, and vitality. And every time someone asks me about them, I refuse to speak defeat. I speak life. I say things like:
“They’re getting stronger by the day.”
“They’re incredible.”
“They are whole, powerful, and resilient.”
And when I share stories, I choose the ones that celebrate who they are, not what they’re going through. I reflect on what is good, great, and awesome about them.

This practice reminded me of the book I’m completing this month—Heaven and Earth. Because while we are here on Earth, yes, we will witness all kinds of things—some preferred, some painful, even traumatic. But we also carry within us the ability to see beyond the temporary. To see people, life, and ourselves from a higher, holier lens.
I believe this is how the great spiritual teachers lived. They saw through the noise. They saw the truth. They chose higher thoughts.

I don’t have anything fancy or deep for you this week—just an invitation:
I invite you to think of someone in your life who’s been going through a rough season. Now for the next seven days, imagine them at their absolute best—mentally, emotionally, physically, spiritually, financially. Don’t tell anyone you’re doing it. Just do it. Send them love, light, strength, and silent prayers whenever they come to mind. And only speak empowering words about them—whether they’re in the room or not.
Then just observe. See what shifts. See what opens.
Because the truth is, when we choose higher thoughts—we raise not only our own vibration, but we become part of someone else's miracle.
May good, great, and awesomeness continue to flow to and through you this week. You are the answer to someone’s prayers, and I’m proud of you.
